Frequently asked Shark Trip Questions

Can non-divers also go onto one of your tours?

Yes. Many guests surface view only. Our boat is specially designed for surface viewing and photography, and we have an upper viewing deck on the boat as well.

Is the diving equipment included for SCUBA diving?

Yes. You do need to be dive certified to use scuba equipment during the shark cage diving.

Can we snorkel in the cage?

Yes. As the cage is fixed to the boat, snorkelling is allowed.

How many people can be in the cage at the same time?

We only allow 2 people in the cage at a time. This allows for a nicer dive experience.

Do you pick up people from hotels?

We can arrange a transfer for you. This is an extra service and not included in the price.

Do we get a refund if the trip is cancelled due to bad weather?

Yes, we offer a 100% refund, if we cancel a trip.

Can children come on the boat?

Children over the age of 10 yrs are welcome. As the trips are full day trips, it is very unpleasant for little children to be out at sea for that amount of time.

How long are the trips?

The one day trips are from 7am until 12.30/13h00.
The afternoon trips are from 13h15 to 16h30/17h00.

If the trip is cancelled, can we go on another day?

We always try to accommodate our guests, if we cannot get out to sea. This does however depend on the availability of the bookings. See more information on our Cancellation Policy

What should I wear on Shark Diving trips?

Weather conditions vary from very warm to very cold weather. Come prepared for the wet Cape weather. Here are some of the essentials that you should take with:

  • Waterproof jacket
  • Jersey
  • Cap or hat that won't blow off on the boat
  • Sunglasses and sunscreen
  • A camera and protective case if you want to take pictures.

Will I get lunch on the boat?

Light snacks, sandwiches and cold drinks are provided. We recommend bringing some extra snacks and cold drinks if you think you might work up an appetite.

Will I get sea sick?

There are no nauseating diesel fumes on our boats and relatively few people (less than 10%) get seasick on our trips. We recommend that you take precautions (visit your physician of pharmacist for medication) if you are prone to seasickness.
