The high season for great white sharks at Seal Island is from April to the middle of September - with June, July and August being the best three months.

We offer different packages for people that want to spend more than one day with the famous breaching sharks of False Bay.

Special package rates for longer trips

We offer a special package range from 5 days or more of R1500 plus 14% VAT = R1710 per person p/day. These trips will let you get a full great white shark experience as you will be able to spend lots of time seeing the sharks of the South African ocean.

Let Rob Lawrence take you on the thrilling ten day expedition where you will wake up every morning knowing that you are going to spend a day with the great white sharks in their natural habitat.

Our 10 day expeditions are run twice a month starting on the first of May, June, July, August, and September.

All of our expeditions are run from the “Blue Pointer” a 36ft catamaran which was custom built for our activities and is safe, fast and reliable and offers a well designed lay out suitable for photography, filming, shark diving and general surface observation and has an upper viewing deck.

Longer packages include:

• Collecting data along with logging and identifying different individuals seen over the 10 days
• Great White Shark cage diving and photography
• Great White shark predation and other animals in the white shark environment
• Great White shark breaching behaviour
• Quality self catering accommodation in Simons Town, South Africa
• Transport to and from airport
• All shark related boat trips
• Dive gear cylinders and weight belts
• All Food and drinks at sea

Our Great White Shark expeditions at sea start at dawn and we reach Seal island just as the sun is rising, the best time to observe predator prey interactions. Once an appropriate anchoring spot is secured we begin to collect environmental and hopefully shark data. Lunch is available at around 12h00. Weather and shark activity dependant, we may stay till dusk, although we are usually home by 14h00. We also attempt to collect above and below water pictures to continue our database of known animals. Weather statistics predict that on average 7 out of 10 days meet the minimum conditions for going to sea. However, it is at the discression on the skipper of the boat to decide if conditions are unsuitable for sea work. As an alternative, time will be spent exploring Cape Towns many world famous landmarks and the well known Cape wine lands. There is also an excellent golf course 5 minutes away from your self catering accommodation.

Rob's philosophy over the last 10 years towards the Great White Shark has been one of tremendous respect and conservation for this truly magnificent Lord of the sea.

Bookings are essential due to limited space. We require a credit card to secure a booking. We are also able to arrange a return transfer to your Hotel in the Cape Town area for R300.00 per person.
