BUITENVERWACHTING WINE ESTATE
VINEYARD Buitenverwachting, meaning "Beyond Expectations", forms part of the original Constantia Estate which was founded by Governor Simon van der Stel. RESTAURANT Elegantly timeless, Buitenverwachting Restaurant is fortuitously positioned overlooking the Vineyards & the Constantiaberg Mountains. It has held the position as one of Cape Towns finest for many years and whereas it used to be rather stiff and formal is now much more relaxed. PICNIC The historic Cape Dutch farmstead and winery at Buitenverwachting frame the beautiful gardens studded with ancient trees where guests can indulge in a pre-booked summer picnic. Picnics are served in baskets under the oak trees. Tables and chairs are provided.
KLEIN CONSTANTIA
VINEYARD Klein Constantia lies on the narrow Cape Peninsula which projects southwards into the southern Atlantic ocean, where exposure to maritime and mountain influences are ideal for quality wine production. With superb views across the Constantia valley and over False Bay, it has frequently been described as one of the world's most beautiful vineyard locations. Home to the family, the gabled Cape Dutch homestead dating back to 1824 graces the 146 hectare estate. As the only winery in the Cape to have won a merit award from the South African Institute of Architects, who rated it "a sensitive adornment to an important historical estate”, the new cellar was partially sunk below ground to minimise the external visual impact. RESTAURANT The Jonkershuis Restaurant is housed in the historic core of the estate and offers Cape Malay, classical and contemporary cuisine, surrounded by atmosphere architecture, vines and views. WINETASTING The cost is R25 per person which includes 5 wines & international souvenir tasting glass , which bears the logo of the Estate. A shop, offering a selection of quality shirts, aprons and caps etc., is also located here. The entire estate is a national heritage and fully operational farm. Although care is taken to make your visit as enjoyable as possible, visitors enter the premises at their own risk. We reserve the right of admission.
GROOT CONSTANTIA
VINEYARD The story of Groot Constantia, the finest surviving example of Cape Dutch architecture and one of South Africa’s foremost historical monuments and tourist attractions, dates back to 1685. In that year Simon van der Stel, the popular commander and later governor of the Cape, was granted land for a farm, which he named Constantia. When he died in 1712, the property was divided and a smaller farm created around the homestead and its outbuildings. RESTAURANT Nestled in the breathtaking Constantia Valley on South Africa 's oldest wine farm “Groot Constantia”, you will find Simon's restaurant. PICNIC A divine picnic experience awaits you amongst the sprawling vines of Groot Constantia Wine estate!

VINEYARDS Steenberg hold the distinction of being the oldest farm in the picturesque Constantia Valley, which is generally considered to be South Africa’s premier wine growing region. With its cool, sea-facing slopes and majestic granite ridges, this vineyard has developed a worldwide reputation for producing excellent Cape wines.
