We are thrilled to announce that we have been certified by Fair Trade and Tourism. We are the only False Bay operator to be certified. The FTTSA certification mark signals to tourists that we are committed in an environmentally and socially responsible manner and that staff and communities linked to our operation receive tangible and positive benefits from tourism. Therefore choosing a tourism company with an ethical business model really does benefit all parties concerned.

February see’s the start of our intermediate season for the Great White Sharks. With the excitement of the 2010 Fifa World Cup this year, we have already been taking a lot of bookings during the World Cup period, so we advise you not to leave your bookings until the last minute as you may miss out. You will be pleased to know that we have not hiked up the prices for our shark trips for the World Cup period.
The "Airjaws" trip departs Simon's Town Pier at 07h00 sharp as this is when the breaching and predation activity is best. The first part of the morning is spent observing this natural activity and then the rest is on cage diving. This boat will return around 12h45.
This is what makes African Shark Eco Charters unique!
- We are the only False Bay operator to be certified by Fair Trade and Tourism.
- We offer shark cage diving as well as watching the great white sharks breaching all on one trip. Nowhere in the world does this activity occur on such a regular basis as in False Bay (in shark season).
- We are one of the few companies where we, the owners, personally go out to sea on almost every trip. This allows us to share our passion and knowledge with you. By operating this way, we attract serious shark lovers, as well as guests wanting a quality trip.
- We are an eco-friendly operation.
- We only take out small groups between 8-12. Our aim is to make each trip a personal experience with the great white sharks.
- We operate in False Bay. False Bay is home to "Airjaws".
- It is a protected bay and we are not affected by bad winter storms as in other shark diving areas.
- Our trips are longer (7h00-12h45). This means you get to spend more time with the sharks, dive for longer, and have a more enjoyable trip.
