No Great White sharks, so we wallowed like hippo's

Rob and I went away for the week end with some friends to " The Baths" in Citrusdal. It was great fun.
Before we left I had to make sure that all the guests I had booked on shark diving trip in Gansbaai for the week- end were sorted out, as we did not have proper cell phone contact and I didnt want any problems.

We wallowed like hippo's in the hot water. The temp was 41'c at the source, but it felt as if the warm water was hotter than that.

We had such great fun, just lazing around the camp site, going for the occassional swim, and during the night, whilst my dad baby sat the sleeping kids, we went to the jaccuzi baths. We couldnt stay in for more than about 15 minutes due to the intense heat of the water. Rob actually became very dizzy and had to sit out for half of the time.

We arrived home to a howling South Easter wind. What a suprise!

Can an old dog learn new tricks

So I have been promising you pics of whats been happening on the recent film shoots.

Rob bought a new computer for his footage and it has an editing program for raw footage and its bloody complicated to use.

Also with the added burden of getting all the filing ready for VAT month, trying to sort out PAYE and about 75 emails a day and to top it of its school holiday's, it doesn't leave much time to do anything else.

But, I will persevere and hope to have a few pics by this afternoon.

Elections and Voting

Yes, we voted. I stood in the queue for an hour and cast my secret ballot.

I wont get into the in's and out of voting and my opinion, as politics is such a hot topic that I am bound to get a million replies, both good and bad.

Rob voted in the evening as we had a shark trip that day. He saw three shark predations but they where in the distance. No sharks around the boat unfortunately. I think if the group had not left so early (they only wanted a short trip), I am sure we would have had sharks to the boat.

Adam, our little chap was wheezing really badly. It got worse towards late afternoon and so I carted him off to the medi-clinic. As there was only 1 doc on duty, we waited longer than it took me to vote. There is only so much you can do to entertain a 20 month toddler before they start causing havoc. He thought that the wheel chairs where great fun and tried to push them around the halls.Thankfully the admin staff had a sense of humour and let him have some fun.

After the diagnosis that he has bronchitis, we headed for home. Being super mom I made the kids supper(omelettes, quick and easy), ordered the kids into the shower with Rob and dashed off to a lecture. Tired and hungry, my course seemed to go on forever...and ever...and ever, and I was very grateful that it was the last night of it.

Today I sit here, cup of coffee in hand and bleary eyed, yet grateful that I didn't have to get up at 5.30 am to go to sea.

Shark Cage diving...No experience necessary

I was going through our website the other day, doing some changes, when I noticed that I had some old information regarding cage diving on it, where it still said you need to be scuba qualified to scuba dive.

You do not need any dive experience or qualifications to use the scuba gear in our shark cages. We keep the dive tanks on board the boat, and we use long air hoses that go from the dive tanks to the diver in the shark cage. This is called a hookah system. It allows you to have a more enjoyable dive without the cumbersome dive gear.

It also means that the non diver can get the chance to dive without having to resort to snorkelling.

Beautiful Cape Point

Rob took this picture on our last trip we did. I just had to share it with you as I find it so captivating.

Here is a close up of the light house at Cape Point. This was a lovely calm day, unlike the next picture.

I took this picture a while ago, but the conditions this week where exactly the same. The weather has played havoc here in the Cape.100's of homes have been washed away at at a little town in the Breede River (2.5 hrs away)

We had to cancel Friday's trip, but tomorrow we are going out again into the deep. Keep you posted on how that goes
