African Shark Eco-Charters operates from False Bay and guarantees the most awesome Great White Shark viewing experience during the winter months. If you are visiting Cape Town in summer, we offer pelagic shark trips, which is a great alternative. However if you are interested in great whites sharks only, we do book guests with a reputable shark cage diving operator in Gansbaai, 2.5 hrs drive from Cape Town.
Gansbaai has a better white shark sightings rate in summer than us as the operators are allowed to work inshore as well as the seal island, where as we are restricted to Seal Island False Bay (for great white sharks).
There are currently several Great White Shark cage diving operators conducting shark encounters in the Gansbaai area, however, not all of them are eco-friendly. The operator that we use hosts the smallest groups for the most fulfilling experience and uses the most eco-friendly methods. As there are 8 other operators in Gansbaai and it can be confusing as to which is the best company to book with so this is where we can provide educated recommendations.
