By | November 22nd, 2013|Tour Happening's|

Cape Point Nature Reserve Here at African Shark Eco-Charters we love to introduce the amazing marine life of False Bay to our clients. We very often see Whales, Dolphins and other sharks on our trips to Seal Island to view the Great White Sharks that hunt there. And there is a lesser know shark diving trip that we offer to the Kelp Forests of Cape Point, to dive with the ancient and fascinating Sevengill Cow Sharks. Sevengill Cow Shark Diving- photo from Sevengill Cow Shark Diving is unique to the area. Set in the Marine Protected area around Cape Point, in the Kelp Forests that  so many creatures call home. This is the only place in the world where you can consistently go shark diving with these rarely seen sharks. While Sevengill Cow Sharks may look prehistoric, and appear to be slow moving they are formidable predators of seals, other sharks and fish. They are known as "wolves of [...]

Great White Shark Excitement

By | October 15th, 2013|Tour Happening's|

“Great White Shark Excitement” Reviewed October 5, 2013   Your day begins at sunrise with a greeting from the cheerful staff of African Shark Eco- Charters for a day filled with Great White Shark excitement, and a snug ride out to an island filled with seals and birds. Immediately upon arrival the crew begins spotting for great white sharks apexing in the area. When a shark is sighted the captain quickly moves the boat into a good viewing range. Following this exercise the boat began towing a seal decoy in hopes of attracting some shark action. On our two outings we were able to view a shark breaching the water. All the crew helped position passengers for views of the action and suggested spots for the keen photographers. The last stage of the outing was shark cage viewing. This operation provides a dive mask and a dive breathing apparatusconnected to an oxygen tank. This is real plus as the snorkelers are able [...]

I was picked up nice and early with some other potential bait and we were taken down to Simons town. We were quickly introduced to everyone and boarded the boat. The vessel was very well maintained clean with a small change room and head it was a very nice boat. We were informed the day before to expect some choppy weather. We were taken straight out to Seal Island and managed to view 3 kills by sharks on seals they were explosive and fast. We had a shark attack our decoy seal. All through the morning the weather kept picking up and we had 3-4 [...]

Shark Diving “Everything Was Incredibly Awesome!”

By | June 4th, 2013|Tour Happening's|

Shark Diving - “Everything Was Incredibly Awesome!” "We were fortunate to book a shark diving trip with Rob Lawrence and his crew on May 20, 2013. The whole process from my initial contact to paying the bill was great especially our time on the water. We arrived at the appointed time and boarded with our party of 7. We bought the whole boat and were very glad we did. We started our day by Seal Island trolling with a seal decoy behind the boat. We had an Air Jaws attack and the shark completely cleared the water. RIDICULOUSLY COOL! We also had 4 different shark visitors and everyone shark diving in the cage got to see a shark with one pair getting a very close view of a 14 footer. We also saw 3 shark attacks on seals. Obviously, we had a spectacular day with Rob and crew. The entire [...]
