Our ultimate “AIRJAWS” trip is the most popular trip that African Shark Eco-Charters has to offer, and is a combination trip which focuses on the natural predations, breaching, shark cage diving and surface viewing all on one trip.

This adventurous 5.5 hour breaching and shark cage diving trip ventures out to Seal Island in False Bay, South Africa, the only place in the world where the natural predations and breaching activity occurs so regularly. We depart early in the morning as the best time to witness the Great White Shark’s natural predatory interaction with the Cape Fur Seals is just before and at sunrise, mainly at certain area’s around the island, and only for a few months of the year.  The best months to witness the natural predation and breaching activity is during June, July and August.

Breaching is one of the hunting techniques that great white sharks use to surprise and kill it’s prey. They  surface with such force and explosive energy that it propels the shark right out of the water. This breaching behaviour is absolutely awesome to witness in person, and if you are in Cape Town during our shark season, then this trip is a “must do”.

This footage was shot on our boat, Blue Pointer 2,  by Rob Lawrence and Ricardo Lacombe, a guest who came on our trip and fell head over heels in love with the great white sharks. Thank you Ricardo.
